Quantitative BOLD with Variational Bayesian inference: model comparisons with Monte Carlo simulations and in an elderly cohort

June 06, 2023

Poster, The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), Toronto, Canada

This study uses Monte Carlo simulations to understand the behavior of quantitative BOLD in different physiological conditions, using a Variational Bayesian inference framework with prior information and data from Asymmetric Spin Echo (ASE) scans. In vivo data showed that this inference approach effectively enables smoother and quantitatively different parameter maps of OEF and DBV.

Oxygen Extraction Fraction using Quantitative BOLD and Cerebral Blood Flow during Vasodilation

May 10, 2022

Poster, The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), London, UK

Preliminary results on research project towards a quantitative MRI method to measure brain oxygenation. Quantitative BOLD technique effectively evaluates the tissue hemodynamic parameters (e.g. OEF), and its response to a vasodilation challenge in a reliable manner with induced tissue perfusion changes.
